    Potassium fluoroaluminate, also known as potassium aluminum fluoride or cryolite potassium, has the molecular formula KAlF4 or K3AlF6. It is composed of potassium ions and fluoroaluminate ions. Due to its appearance, properties and applications being very similar to cryolite, it is usually called potassium cryolite. It is widely used in aluminum production, grinding tools and abrasives, ceramics, glass industry, electronics industry, welding industry, and chemical analysis, among others.

    2. It is usually a white or light gray powder in appearance. It is slightly soluble in water and deliquescent. The initial melting point is around 560 degrees Celsius, and the boiling point is 19.5 degrees Celsius at 760 mmHg. At high temperatures, it reacts with water to release hydrogen fluoride and can also slowly dissolve in strong acids to release hydrogen fluoride.

Function and advantages: In aluminum production, as an electrolyte flux for aluminum electrolysis, it can lower the melting point of the electrolyte, enhance electrical conductivity, facilitate the electrolysis of alumina, reduce energy consumption during the electrolysis process, and improve the purity and quality of aluminum. In the field of grinding tools and abrasives, as an additive in the production of grinding wheels, it can increase the lifespan and wear resistance of the grinding wheels. In resin grinding wheels, due to its low melting point and quick effect, it can effectively perform cutting, enhance the grinding rate of the grinding wheel, and increase the working speed of the grinding wheel. In the ceramic industry, it is used in the preparation of ceramic glazes and pigments, which can increase the luster and hardness of the glazes, improve the quality and decorative effect of ceramics. In the glass industry, as a flux in glass manufacturing, it can lower the melting point of glass, promote its melting and fluidity, and enhance the transparency and quality of the glass.
